Senator Wright praised the National Latino Peace Officers Association after his recent meeting with representatives of their Los Angeles chapter, saying, "Many thanks to NLPOA for their decades-long commitment to fighting for equity in our justice system, and for working to keep kids on the right track to a positive future."

NLPOA is a non-profit organization comprised of local, state and federal law enforcement officers, as well as business owners, community leaders, political representatives and volunteers. The organization's stated mission is to eliminate prejudice and discrimination in the criminal justice system, reduce community juvenile delinquency and lessen citizen tensions. To that end, members mentor at-risk youth and raise charitable funds to give back to the community.
